As a wedding videographer, I feel really fortunate to capture some truly special moments on a couple’s big day. Although every wedding is unique, there are a few key moments that are important to capture in order to really tell the story of the day. Here are the 5 moments that I always make sure to capture:

1. Getting Ready

It’s easy to overlook the getting ready process, but it’s actually a really important part of the day. When the bride and groom are surrounded by their closest friends and family, and emotions are running really high. Capturing all the excitement, nerves, and joy of this time really sets the tone for the rest of the day.

2. First Look

The first look is one of the most special moments of a wedding day. It’s an opportunity for the bride and groom to see each other for the first time on their big day. It’s also a moment that is often filled with intense emotions as the bride and groom lay their eyes on each other, they are filled with a mixture of emotions. This is a moment that they will remember for the rest of their lives. Therefore, it’s crucial to capture all that raw emotion on camera.

3. Ceremony

The ceremony is really the heart of the wedding day and it’s crucial to capture all the key moments. From the bride walking down the aisle to the exchange of vows and rings. For more traditional, religious or cultural ceremonies, there can be a lot more to capture due to the significance of each moment for the couple and their families.

4. First Dance

The first dance is a really special moment for most couples. This when the bride and groom get to share their first dance as a married couple! It’s a moment that’s often filled with emotion, as the couple takes a few minutes to really soak in the fact that they’ve tied the knot. As a videographer, I make sure to capture all the little details of this moment – from the song that they choose to the way they look at each other as they dance. It’s a moment that the couple will want to remember forever, and I feel really lucky to be able to capture it on camera.

5. After Party

Finally, capturing the after party is also really important. This is when the couple’s friends and family really let loose and celebrate the newlyweds! It’s a chance to capture some really fun moments on camera, like the bouquet toss, the cutting of the cake, and of course, lots of dancing. I make sure to capture all the energy and excitement of the after party, because it really completes the story of the day. The couple will be able to look back on their video and see all the fun that their guests had, which is a really special thing to be able to do.

I think that capturing these 5 key moments is essential to telling the story of a couple’s special day. By capturing all of the emotion, excitement, and joy, I’m able to create a wedding video to be treasured for years to come.
